Who we are
Our mission is to provide dental and vision services for people in financial need in Jefferson and Shelby counties, while maintaining dignity, respecting cultural diversity, and strengthening the community.
Cahaba Valley Health Care serves over 3000 patients a year
Cahaba Valley Health Care (CVHC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in April 2000. In 2001, we hosted our first vision screening for the Birmingham community. In November 2003, we began conducting dental screenings in conjunction with vision screenings. We have since added specialty clinics for fillings and extractions. In March 2016, CVHC moved to Cooper Green Mercy Health Services Building. Since moving to Cooper Green, CVHC’s patient load has grown from hundreds to thousands.
CVHC partners with agencies in central Alabama such as the UAB School of Dentistry, Christ Health Center, Alabama Regional Medical Services, Hope Health Clinic, and The Foundry. With these resources we are able to assist our patients in finding the care they need.
